History of the Computer
The first time that the term "Computer" was ever used was in 1613. The meaning of the word Computer was used as a person making calculations, or computations. From the end of the 19th century the word Computer was used in a different meaning. From a person making calculations to a device that carries out calculations or a set of directions. Now the Computer can be used to program different things.
Impact on Society
Konrad Zuse's first computer impacted the lives of many people because it made it easier to do large and complicated arithmetic problems. His later computers are more like modern day computers, and not like calculators. Today's computers are based on Zuse's earlier works and are now used with many different processes run by computers. There are many objects in our world today that are made by computers. Cars are disigned by computers; Traffic signals, airplanes, and most medical equipment are run by computers, now. I think we should all know that there are many objects that are dependant on computers; that the computer changes lives, and even saved lives with the medical equipment used today. Many of the Jobs today require a small amount of computer usage. Life without computers would simply be whole lot harder. Think...without computers, scientists in the medical field may not have found many of the cures to deseases that are known to us today. Almost everything in our world is reliant on some sort of computer.
